Live Illustration. Visual Thinking. Sketch Notes.
Graphic Recording. Scribing…

Phew! Lots of different names... but scribing is basically the process of an illustrator creating a visual representation of people’s thoughts and ideas during an event.

About me

I’m an artist that designs characters for entertainment companies, illustrates humorous children’s books and draws during meetings.

I capture and transform words and ideas into accessible visual information during meetings, presentations and events. I can work traditionally with markers on large format boards or digitally on my iPad then projecting in-progress or completed illustrations on screen throughout the event.

In addition to scribing, I illustrate children’s books (Penguin Random House, HarperCollins, Simon & Schuster) and work as a character designer in TV development (Disney, Curious Pictures, eOne Family). I was born and raised in Wisconsin and graduated from the University of Wisconsin with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. After leaving school I lived in Chicago, then San Francisco, where I worked as an animator and character designer in the animation and toy industries. In 2007, I migrated over to the UK in 2007 and have been a freelance illustrator ever since.

I now live near the sea in Brighton & Hove.
